Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer telehealth or in-person sessions?

I offer telehealth (video) sessions for clients across New Mexico. I do not currently offer in-person sessions.

What happens during the first session?

The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, your goals, and what you’d like to work on. There’s no pressure — it’s a conversation, not an evaluation.

What is EMDR therapy?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps people heal from trauma and distressing life experiences. It uses guided eye movements to help the brain process difficult memories so they no longer feel overwhelming.

How long does therapy take?

Every person’s journey is different. Some people find relief in a few months; others benefit from longer-term support. We’ll regularly check in on your progress and adjust the approach as needed.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes! We currently accept Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA, Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico, Carelon Behavioral Health, Anthem EAP (Bank of America), Cigna, and Aetna. We are also in the process of getting paneled with additional insurers in New Mexico.

What if I don’t have insurance or my insurance isn’t accepted?

Self-pay rates are $170 for individual therapy and $200 for couples therapy. Sliding scale options are available — please reach out to discuss what works for your situation.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to a fee.

Do you practice in any other language?

Yes, I practice in both Arabic and English
